Welcome to Emmanuel ~ FAQ
What time is church? Emmanuel has one service on Sunday morning at 9:00am. Fellowship & coffee follow immediately after the service with Bible study beginning at 10:30am
Where do I park? Emmanuel is located in Aurora, one mile east of Illinois Route 25 on the corner of Fourth Avenue & Jackson Street.
Parking is availabe in our parking lot on Jackson Street. You may also park on Jackson Street or Fourth Avenue.
Do you have a staffed nursery? At Emmanuel, we encourage parents to teach their children by worshipping together as a family during the Divine Service. During the Divine Service we receive God’s blessings and the forgiveness of sins through Word & Sacrament. Attending weekly gives us an understanding of Scripture, Liturgy, Hymnody and the Church Year. We do have a small sitting room available for a quiet area to feed baby or console little ones. The sitting room is located in the sanctuary and has a viewing window which allows for continued participation in the service.
Does Emmanuel serve communion?Yes. We desire that all receive the Sacrament to their benefit and in proper order, therefore we observe the biblical and historic practice of reserving Communion to those who: a) have been baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; b) are members in good standing of a Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod congregation, c) have been properly instructed in the doctrines of the Christian faith and examined by a pastor, and d) hold firm to the confession of the Lutheran faith as taught to them in the Small Catechism. For those not yet catechized, we invite all to come up to the altar with your arms crossed over your heart to receive a blessing from the Lord. What should I wear?We have no dress code and welcome you to join us in worship as you’re most comfortable.
